A Championship Dream
Daytona Beach, FL (PRWEB) October 28, 2005
At a local racetrack down in Florida, a battle goes on. A battle that pits a teenage girl against all grown men.
NASCAR is looking for their version of Danica Patrick. Maybe they should look a little further south.
With four races left this season, Seventeen year old stock car racing sensation Alli Owens, is doing what most teenage girls donât do. Sheâs in a battle for a late model stock car championship.
With the 2005 season almost over, Alli has surpassed all expectations and has worked her way to 2nd place in championship points. The rookie title she had set as a goal is definitely in sight since she has at least a 200 point lead over the next closest rookie.
This year hasnât been easy for Alli. With school, a job and racing, Sheâs had to sacrifice things other teenagers take for granted. There isnât much time to hang out with friends or go to school dances. While other kids are at the mall or the movies, Alli is working on her car making sure itâs ready for the next race. Nothing has been given to this young lady. She has worked very hard for every point sheâs earned driving against some of the best late model racers in the area. Alli wouldnât have it any other way.
Respect is something else that is not easy to come by when youâre a teenage girl racing against all grown men. Itâs not something that comes overnight but after racing against adults for the past four years, Alli has gained that respect.
With only four more races and Alli being 50 points out of 1st place, a championship is not a sure thing but considering what she has accomplished so far this year, she is a champion in the minds and hearts of everyone that knows her.
