‘Pregnancy Pact’ Draws Sharp Response from Teen-Help Author

San Francisco (PRWEB) June 25, 2008

Seventeen teenage girls make a pact to get pregnant. Parents and teachers ask,”Why would they do this?”

Richard Dudum, author of What Your Mother Never Told You – A Survival Guide For Teenage Girls, thinks he knows why.

Dudum says, “Parents are too busy providing the basics for their families, shrinking budgets limit the ability of schools to educate teens about sex, and as a nation we don’t talk to our kids about the consequences of sex. Only a handful of parents and schools have had the courage to face up to these issues.”

These are the very issues Dudum tackles head-on in his book, What Your Mother Never Told You – A Survival Guide For Teenage Girls. The teenage survival guide includes chapters “Don’t Act and Dress Like A Ho,” ”Change Friends When It’s Time” and, ”Respect Yourself.” All should have been read by the seventeen mothers-to-be.

Dudum’s advice to parents of teenage girls is clear and simple. “Talk to your daughter about sex. If that’s too hard, put a copy of What Your Mother Never Told You on her bed. It will give her the tools to make good decisions, decisions that define and reflect who she is and who she wants to be. The book will open the door to dialogue.”

Richard Dudum is a San Francisco lawyer, musician, Realtor, summer-camp director, community leader and cancer survivor. He’s been married for 26 years. ”What Your Mother Never Told You” offers clear-sighted perspective and no-nonsense self-help advice from a father with the ability to convey tough love in a kind and supportive manner.

Richard Dudum is available for interviews immediately.

Personalize Children’s Rooms With Kids’ Unique Home Furnishings

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) May 21, 2007

Home Decorators Collection®, national retailer of home décor, recently introduced a line of children’s furniture to its online offerings. Well-known for its vast selection of area rugs and ready-to-assemble furniture, this is the first time that the company has carried an entire collection just for kids. Bright and colorful kids’ merchandise includes children’s bedroom furniture, tables and chairs, toy storage chests and children’s desks.

Stylish kids’ bedroom furniture sets at Home Decorators Collection are available in several innovative designs. Since today’s children are so in tune with cool fashion trends, youth bedroom furniture comes in a wide variety of styles and colors to suit almost any taste. Kids will love the Monster Design , evocative of a garage workshop with its chrome and metal construction. Also popular is the “Z” Collection. With a sleek black finish, silver hardware and Z-shaped accents, this family of dressers, nightstands, bed frames and other items provide desired versatility, as this group appeals to youngsters and teenagers alike.

Many apartments, urban houses and condos fall short on space in the kids’ rooms. Therefore, a loft bed with an accompanying desk is the ideal solution. Because the bed is lofted above the desk, the whole unit only takes up the area of a twin or full-size bed, and the lower desk is a great place to play computer games and complete homework. Home Decorators Collection offers individual children’s desks in modern Monster and “Z” designs, with more traditional wooden furniture, from desks to bedroom-in-a box units, also available.

Provide kids with a chair that fits both their size and needs. Home Decorators Collection offers desk chairs for teens, children’s desk chairs, kids’ lounge chairs, toddler tables and chairs, and more. A fun choice is the Sit’n Around Nantucket Table and Chair Set, which features chairs in primary colors with lovely wainscoting details that give it a coastal look. For snack time or playtime, the large tabletop provides an ample surface area that is supported on an orange, arc-motif base. The complete set includes one table and four chairs.

Toy chests are a necessity for children. A toy storage bin can help them keep the room tidy. From the Hello Kitty Storage Stool to the Harley-Davidson® Toy Caddy, Home Decorators Collection’s selections will appeal to kids of all ages and interests. Older kids might like the Storage Locker, which, thanks to the bottom adjustable shelf and removable hanger rod, can stash everything from sports gear to books to clothes. It is available in three bright colors and looks like a real school locker.

With over 75,000 items for sale, Home Decorators Collection is one of the nation’s largest direct sellers of merchandise for the home. In addition to its catalog and website, retail stores are located in Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, Oklahoma City and Tulsa. For further information, visit http://www.HomeDecorators.com or call 1-800-245-2217 for a free catalog.
