Get It Started in 2006 with the Business Bootcamp

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 29, 2005

New Year’s resolution for 2004 – start my own business. New Year’s resolution for 2005 – start my own business. New Year’s resolution for 2006 – start my own business. Will your New Year’s resolution for 2007 be to start your own business? Not if you attend the Business Bootcamp.

There seems to be a boot-camp for everything from working out to cooking. Well now you can add business to the boot-camp list. The Business Bootcamp, a start-your-business-now workshop series will workout any doubts, confusion, concerns and procrastinations an aspiring entrepreneur may have as well as ease the fears of starting a business.

The Business Bootcamp founder/instructor, Michelle Blackwell, a writer/actor by trade has independently produced local radio and television through her small multimedia company (BDP Entertainment – started in 1992), and has recently put together The Business Handbook, a collection of business information, resources, forms and applications to assist in the formation of new businesses. “I have spent a lot of time learning the business of business and have fallen through lots of pitfalls,” said thirty year old Blackwell.

“My main objective for the Business Bootcamp workshop series is to get more minorities, especially women and young people, into business. I started my business when I was a teenager and that was tough. Being a woman in business was even tougher,” said Blackwell. “I think the biggest problem people have with starting their own business, including myself, is we are big procrastinators. We can always come up with a reason why not to start our business, everything from ‘I can’t do a business plan’ to ‘where’s the money going to come from’. We have to get over the fear of starting something,” she concludes.

What’s on her plate, in terms of start-ups, for 2006? Listen to this: she is helping launch a digital radio and TV station, a monthly independent periodical simply titled ONE Magazine, a community events promotions company and a new video production studio with her husband, Ptah Shabaf, who has worked in the motion picture industry since the early 90’s.

Blackwell is pumped up to help turn 2006 New Year’s resolutions (of business) into reality for a few local entrepreneurs. So, if you have ever said: I want to start my own business, the Business Bootcamp workshops are forming now. Get in and get it started for 2006.
