This is the Pilot episode of NBC’s “Hello, Larry” from 1979. (This is the Original Broadcast on NBC from 1979) The name of the episode is “How To Not To” and it’s about Diane’s boyfriend putting pressure on her to go all the way. Diane attempts to get advice on the subject from her dad, but Larry is a recently divorced single father bringing up two teenage girls on his own, so he is stuck for an answer when approached about the situation. The show revolves around Larry bringing up two teenage girls as a single father and his work as a radio talk show host on a program called ‘Hello, Larry’ Hence the name of the show. The show also eventually follows Larry’s journeys in dating and parenting two teenage girls with a lot of questions. He confides in his friend and Engineer Earl and his ‘Lady Producer’ Morgan Winslow. The Show is also sometimes referred to as a spin off of the largely popular show ‘Diff’rent Strokes’ because there were Three 1 hour crossover specials between the shows. I have more episodes of Hello, Larry I could upload if people like the show or want to see the next episode after this one. Feel free to comment and talk about the show here! Enjoy!

Did this show ever explain why the girls were not with their mom? If they did, I must have missed it. Imdb.com says Donna Wilkes was born in ’59 so she’s playing four yrs younger hear (16). Kim Richards was playing closer to her age since imdb.com states she was born in ’64. Both those talented gals were able to play younger characters thru their entire careers. THANKS for posting this episode! I fondly recall this show from the late 70′s. Not classic stuff but fairly cute & fun!
