Sun Country Airlines has certain qualities in the way it sticks to its founding philosophy regarding the passenger experience. Decades ago a large airline company had to cease operations, and it is from that even that Sun Country arose. Late 2001 say many changes in the US, and one of which was that Sun Country seemed to be all but defunct as an airline. However, some people still believed in them, and these investors brought Sun Country back to life. However, once again, there were difficult times in the past several years, and as of December 2010 are in the early processes of bankruptcy reorganization. Yet the dream of the company that first started flying in 1982 is still alive.

Business life was fairly typical for Sun Country Airlines because they rode the wild economic ride that all airlines must endure. It wasn’t until 1999 that Sun Country Airlines was actually recognized as an airliner. The next few years were very difficult for a number of typical reasons which included price wars. Very soon they had lost a great of money, something like 60 million when entering 2000.

Unfortunately, they were not strong enough to endure the sanctions imposed on US carriers after Sept 11, 2001. Sadly, three months later at the end of 2001 saw the doors close and scheduled flights halted for Sun Country Airlines. Sun Country announced in July of this year their award of a top ten domestic airline according to Travel & Leisure Magazine. This recognition is part of T & L’s World Best Service Award for 2010. It’s important to note that this particular award is not just handed out like candy, it’s earned based on the reviews of actual passengers on the airlines in question. This ranking also includes a grading system for customer satisfaction in the areas of personal attention and overall service. Domestic carriers of all shapes and sizes are included in the pool of eligibility. Being included makes Sun Country feel especially warm and fuzzy.

Now, as of the middle of 2010, Sun Country is carrying passengers to Hawaii as well as London, England. They used the Boeing 737-800 which is a twin engine airliner. But that is not the first time they embarked on flights crossing the Atlantic on twin engine planes. The very first trip across the Atlantic for Sun Country occurred in June (2010) when they flew from Minneapolis Minnesota to London England. Sun Country Airlines is of course considered a smaller operator along the lines of a regional. However they do offer some popular destinations to warmer weather. Employees of Braniff airlines were the first to have started Sun Country. Braniff went out of business and a pool of experienced and talented airline professionals conceived and founded Sun Country Airlines. They originally conceived the notion of providing top notch customer experiences.
