STG Media Corp. Becomes Exclusive Publisher Rep Firm for Tiger Beat and Bop Magazines

Category : Teen Gossip

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) August 10, 2005

STG Media Corp., the fastest-growing international print media placement consulting agency, announced this week that it has signed an exclusive agreement to represent Tiger Beat and BOP magazines. This partnership will enable advertisers worldwide targeting females 11-16 years old new opportunities for building brand awareness at a young age.

“Teens today represent $ 170 billion in consumer spending — Wow! They’re trend-setters who live to shop, have customized cell phones and credit cards, not to mention theyÂ’re the fastest-growing age group since the baby boomers,” said STG Media Corp. CEO, Brett P. Benning.

STG Media Corp. and Laufer Media both realize the potential of joining forces, and are exploring new ways to bring advertisers and teens together. “We’re focusing first on sponsorships, contests, product tie-ins, public service announcements, and offering premium placement to select advertisers,” said Thomas Lark, STG Media Corp.’s President, who will be overseeing the integration project. “83% of teen girls say advertising influences their purchases and that magazines are the most effective way to reach them. If the message is positive and wholesome, there is no better vehicle for that message than Tiger Beat and Bop.”

Since 1965, Tiger Beat and Bop magazines have delighted America’s teenagers with the latest in movies, music, fashion and celebrity photos and gossip. With strong newsstand sell-through, and a combined pass-along readership over 2 million each month, Tiger Beat and Bop truly deliver the teen girl demographic like no other publications available.

Tiger Beat was sold to Primedia late in 1998 by former publisher Sterling-McFadden. It was purchased in 2003 by Scott Laufer, son of founder, Chuck Laufer.

Based in Phoenix, AZ, STG Media Corp. specializes direct response print marketing and has offices in Phoenix, Los Angeles, Houston and Toronto. For more information visit www.stgmediacorp.com or call Daniel Krones, Vice President of Print Media Marketing, at 480-699-6078.

It was the first magazine marketed to adolescents that focused exclusively on celebrities. 16 Magazine is sometimes credited by those in the publishing and entertainment industries as a primary influence in shaping rock journalism. Founded in 1956, the first issue hit the newsstands in May 1957, with Elvis Presley on the cover. It was published quarterly. The cost was 15 cents an issue. The magazine was, initially, edited by men writing under female pseudonyms, and it closely followed the style of more traditional movie magazines such as Photoplay. However, its longtime editor in chief, former fashion model and subscriptions clerk, Gloria Stavers, transformed the magazine from a standard general interest movie magazine into a major fan magazine that focused on the pre-teen female as its primary readerbase. Stavers was the editor in chief from 1958 until 1975. She chose to cater to that particular demographic because of the many fan letters she had read from girls aged nine through 12 who were writing to popular celebrities in care of the magazine. www.myspace.com/lcbabieee Isn’t it ironic? the girls wanted to be famous, well they got what they wanted! karma is a bitch and i hope justice is served! ———————– Eight teenagers in Lakeland, FL invite Victoria Lindsay over and beat her up for things she allegedly said about them on the internet. Full story: Eight teenagers have been arrested in Lakeland, Fla., on charges that they allegedly beat another teen in an “animalistic attack” so they could make a videotape to post on YouTube. Seven of the teens remained in juvenile detention Tuesday, authorities said. A boy who was charged as an adult has been released on bail. Victoria Lindsay was attacked on March 30 by six teenage girls when she arrived at a friend’s home, authorities said. One of the girls struck the 16-year-old victim on the head several times and then slammed her head into a wall, knocking her unconscious, according to an arrest report. Later, according to a clip of the video that was released by the Polk County sheriff’s office, the teens can be seen blocking a door and hitting Victoria. “When I saw my daughter in the emergency room, I didn’t even recognize my own daughter,” her father Patrick Lindsay, said a recent news conference in front of their Florida home. “I just walked in and held her. I didn’t want her to see me weep.” “I’ve never seen anybody’s face disfigured like that.” While the beatings took place more than a week ago, Patrick and Talisa Lindsay said their daughter remains
