7 Reasons E-businesses FAIL!-00-6694

Category : Cool Videos

E-businesses and moneymaking opportunities pop up everywhere like the common cold, yet only a small fraction of them will have some semblance of success. Many people seem to believe the Internet is easy money because you’re able to set up a website and try making money from anywhere you want to be. The fact is that it takes a lot to start a successful business and hardly anything for it to fail. Here are 7 common failures of online businesses.

1:You’re unoriginal.

You can’t just copy and paste your way to online success. If your idea is the exact same as something that already exists and you can’t think of a way to make it better, faster, stronger, sleeker, shinier, lighter, etc., you’re likely going to fail. Nobody is going to use a eBay copy if it’s exactly the same as eBay. No one will use your tools if they aren’t any better or worse than other tools out if they cost the same or more. You have to either offer something completely new that no one has created before or you have to take an existing idea and vastly improve it.

2:Where is your discipline.

This is not your old J.O.B. You don’t have someone to tell you when you need to get back on task. Someone to tell you what to do. Or even someone to tell you to work. This is your own business. You are your own boss and you have to treat it like one. If you don’t act like your business is real you will never get real results.

3:Prioritize.

Worrying about how amazing your website looks instead of improving your tools or products might get you a design award or even into some CSS galleries, but it won’t bring you satisfied customers. You need to know which priorities are important you can’t tackle it all at once, so it’s important to focus and determine which tasks have the largest, most direct impact on your business’s ability to be successful.

4:You think you deserve to succeed.

The entitlement complex. It doesn’t matter if you have a good idea if you don’t see it to fruition and work hard to make that idea a reality, it’s not going to magically appear by itself. Nobody owes you, so suck up your pride and get down to business. Success is earned, you’re not going to get any if all you do is sit around and expect it without getting up and making it happen.

5:Common sense.

If you were a book smart genius who got straight A’s in high school and college, great. But being a business owner requires street smarts. If you’re too naive, you’ll likely get eaten alive by the competition. People might try to screw you, cheat you, and lie to you. It’s a tough out there, and if you can’t cut it and hang with the big boys, you need to re-think your business plan.

6:It takes money to make money.

This saying did not originate because it people want your money, it’s true. Too cheap to advertise? Don’t think you need that more reliable server? Sure, you see potential dollar signs in your future but if you’re too cheap to spend what it takes to get your business off the ground, you won’t be making much money any time soon. Instead you’ll end up spending more money over time.

7:Failure? What’s that?.

This might be the most common reason of all. If you’ve never experienced failure and you fail for the first time at something, you’re put at a crossroads and your perseverance is really put to the test. Most successful business owners have failed many times in the past, and they’ve picked themselves up and gone back to the drawing board every single time to figure out what doesn’t work and get back on the right track. If you don’t know what it’s like to fail and you find yourself failing, you might just throw up your hands and quit. Sometimes you need to learn failure in order to determine if you’re cut out to be an entrepreneur.

There you have it, 7 common reasons businesses will likely fail. I’d love to hear any other reasons if you’ve got any, or you can share how you’ve grown your own business and any issues you came across along the way.

Learn How the Common Core Can Help with Classroom Management

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) December 09, 2011

On December 1, 2011, PD developer School Improvement Network hosted the fourth webinar in its ongoing Common Core Standards series. Presented by education expert Dr. Lisa Leith, the webinar outlined strategies for employing the Common Core to develop better classroom management, and to motivate struggling students.

“One of the strengths of the Common Core Standards,” says Dr. Leith, “is that the design can place students’ education directly into their own hands. Giving students more control over what and how they learn empowers them, and makes them more eager to work.”

Throughout the course of the webinar, Dr. Leith provided detailed, curriculum- specific ideas for utilizing the Common Core:

    Create clear goals for students

    Reconnect cause and effect

    Orient students in time

Encourage future focus for college, career, and beyond

Dr. Leith’s presentation, with audio and visual components, can be downloaded for free online at http://www.commoncore360.com/webinars, along with the entire Common Core webinar series which is free and open to the public.

NYC Fashion Photographer, Eric Bean, Debunks Common Myths About Modeling

Category : Teen

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 23, 2007

NYC fashion photographer, Eric Bean, explains the “hard truths” about the modeling industry, in his book, “The Complete Guide for Models: Insider Advice from Industry Professionals”. The advice comes from working with top fashion insiders, including successful models, modeling agents, agency owners, casting directors, magazine editors, makeup artists, and health professionals. These experts debunk myths about the modeling profession and shed light on common scams that plague the industry.

Eric debunks myths about the “Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll” perception most people have about the modeling industry. “A healthy lifestyle is essential to maintaining a long lasting career as a model. When i am casting for a photo shoot, i can see over 200 models. They are all auditioning for one job. I am looking for healthy skin, a beautiful face, correct proportions, and a great attitude. It’s very tough competition out there, you have to stand out as a Star . If a model stays out all night partying, it shows on her face, even if she’s a teenager. Even with high tech retouching these days, we want a “natural beauty” not a party girl.” ” Agents are hesitant to work with a “Paris Hilton ” or “Lindsay Lohan” type of party personality, for fear of losing a profitable job or even a client.” Eric says “Not everyone has the perfect combination of hard work ethics, height, personality, or the “X Factor” to become a supermodel. Those traits all have to blend together to make the ideal working model”. Natural beauty is just one part of becoming a successful model, Eric details the other 9 traits in his book, along with important information on the business of modeling and maintaining a long lasting career.

Eric’s conversations with fashion modeling “legends” such as supermodel Carmen Dell’Orefice, and owner of FORD Models, Katie Ford, sheds light on the the tough and demanding road to becoming a model. Eric discusses, in his book, the steps from being “discovered” to maintaining a long-lasting career. He explains the “behind the scenes” details of a New York City fashion shoot to find out what it’s really like. Whether you dream of becoming the next supermodel, or just hope to supplement your income with exciting modeling work, this book gives you the facts directly from people in the fashion industry.

Eric Bean is a fashion photographer who is based out of New York City. Eric started his photography career 20 years ago shooting for every major modeling agency in NYC. Soon after he became a popular fashion photographer that has photographed many prestigious worldwide ad campaigns. Eric has worked with such distinguished companies as Harry Winston Jewelers, Salvatore Ferragamo, Avon Worldwide, Bill Blass and W Hotels. His online portfolio can be viewed at www.EricBean.com. His book can be found at most major bookstores or online.
