It is possible for any persons to have higher than average self-esteem if we really have the desire – And yet, some people find it problematic to enhance their favourable self-image. We can each feel horribly when it comes to ourselves in some cases. Feelings of Depressed self-esteem may be generated by being treated badly by someone else recently or in earlier times, or by a person’s own assessment of him or herself. This happens to pretty much everyone. That said, it’s common for people to have continual concerns with self-esteem if they suffer from one or more of the following: anxiety, phobias, a depressive disorder, delusions, or long-term illness. If you are one of these individuals, you may go through life feeling bad when it comes to your own self unnecessarily. It is possible that problems with Depressed self-esteem have been preventing you from savouring life fully. It deters you from doing the things you would want to do. It obstructs the journey towards arriving at personal aspirations.

As different people, we do have the right to feel optimistic when it comes to our own selves. And yet when you are under stress, it can be well nigh impossible to feel really positive regarding ourselves. When we are placed in places that we find problematic to deal with, building self-esteem can be a seemingly-impossible task. When you have emotional, marital or financial problems, it can feel really far too overwhelming to even get through the day, let alone find the positive in yourself. When a person faces a serious situation, it’s easy to be drawn into a downward spiral of decreased self-esteem.

Feeling happy about yourself isn’t just about your psychological and emotional health – it actually has an impact on your body health, too. Self-esteem is based on how you see your strengths and your worth as a person. For individuals who are shy and unassertive or have panic or anxiety or despression symptoms, Low self-esteem is a common companion condition. They are negative when it comes to themselves and their strengths. If you have Low self-esteem, you tend to assume that you are not worthy – and this can contribute to poor habits like for example smoking, bingeing on unhealthy quality foods or starving oneself.

Individuals with good self-esteem tend to be secure with themselves and confident. They see themselves and their abilities positively. Following on from this, because they feel entitled to health, they tend to take better physical care of themselves.
Contrary to common opinion, gaining self-esteem is not that tough or baffling. Building up your self-esteem rests on two important stands – in the words of the old song, “Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative”! You can attempt the following suggestions to help Bolster your self-esteem:

When your skills or positive character traits are pointed out by someone else, simply say “Thanks” and accept and believe the praise as opposed to declaring “Yes, but…” or brushing it off as worth nothing.

Don’t set impossible standards for yourself. Comparing yourself unfavorably to other individuals is a recipe for decreasing your self-esteem.
When you make an error, do not call yourself stupid, bungling, bad, etc. Realize that we Each make mistakes and those errors are what help us to learn and move forward.

Do not judge others, but listen completely to what they are saying.

Remember that everyone has their own strengths and talents. Show recognition for those strengths in other individuals.

Enumerate the points that you do which help your loved ones, friends, or colleagues.

Support and encourage other individuals’s efforts to learn new things.

Understand people you know who make you feel optimistic, and spend time with them. Do things that you enjoy and that make you feel valuable.
