The Society of Family Insurance Specialists is an organization of insurance agents that specializes in insurance education and protection of families. While teenagers look forward to getting their driver’s licenses, their parents often face this juncture of their children’s lives with fear and trepidation. Tom Wiecek, president of the SFIS believes that this guide can give teen drivers the education and experience that driving schools can’t. “In most states, driving schools only provide four to six hours of supervised driving experience,” says Wiecek. “This leaves the responsibility of making teens safer drivers with their parents.”

Driver education experts recommend that teens get at least 100 hours of experience before driving unsupervised. Since driving schools cannot provide this much needed experience, parents can use the Safe Teen Driver Guide to make their driving experience most effective. “Parents need to take the responsibility to provide their teens with more driving experience,” said Officer Poer. “This new home study Safe Teen Driver Guide gives parents a tool that can help their teen learn the most common driving skills while being supervised. Plus, it makes this exciting period in a child’s life more enjoyable for the entire family.”
