The Live for Music Concert Series Tour makes a stop at Arundel High School on October 28, 2010 at 7 pm.

Shaun Barrowes from Fox’s American Idol performs in concert, and will showcase Arundel High Schools top singers, dancers and musicians at the concert.

This highly entertaining and interactive concert experience will not only showcase hundreds of local singers, dancers and musicians, but will also benefit the school. The proceeds are donated to the school’s music and arts program. The show tickets are $ 7, and it is open to the public.

“As professional musicians, we’ve benefited tremendously from our high school music and arts programs. Now we would like to give something back,” Barrowes said. “We’re traveling the country, performing with high schools’ Choirs, Bands and Dance teams.”

Students will perform alongside Barrowes and his team of professional musicians and choreographers, giving them the opportunity to showcase their talents and learn from professionals. “The goal is to make this an exception and unforgettable performing opportunity for the kids,” he said.

Barrowes desires to motivate and infuse a love for music and the arts into communities across America. He is passionate about music education staying strong despite economic downturns.

“Music Education provides an emotional outlet and an opportunity for students to be a part of a family and team work. Music gives students goals to achieve,” he said. “Studies show that 75% of music students make up the top 10% of academic students too.”
