Pregnant Teenagers PACT to Get knocked UP

Category : Teen

There’s a stunning twist to the sudden rise in teen pregnancies at Gloucester High School. 17 students there are expecting and, according to a published report, most of them became that way on purpose. Time Magazine is reporting that nearly half of the girls confessed to making a pact to get pregnant and raise their babies together. None of the girls is older than 16. Principal Joseph Sullivan said that wasn’t all that was shocking. “We found out one of the fathers is a 24-year-old homeless guy,” he told Time. Last month, two top officials at the high school’s health center resigned in a fight over contraceptives distribution. Medical Director Dr. Brian Orr and chief nurse practitioner Kim Daly support confidentially giving contraceptives to students. They were outraged about resistance from Addison Gilbert Hospital, which administers the state public health grant that funds the school clinic. Normally, the school has about four pregnancies per school year. According to Time, school officials started looking into the spike in pregnancies after an unusual number of girls came to the school clinic for pregnancy tests. Some came by several times. “Some girls seemed more upset when they weren’t pregnant than when they were,” Sullivan told the magazine. The pregnant girls and their parents turned down requests to be interviewed. A recent graduate who had a baby during her freshman year told Time she knows why the girls wanted to get pregnant. “They’re so excited to finally

Thanks for viewing and post comments at the bottom. Sensitive issues require a disclaimer: If the media was so interested in the pregnant teenagers, then why is there so much sex in the media? And that includes the news! In the world of media, the way you cover a story is to do a fact check. It seems like three major cable networks; led by the Associated Press, drive the media frenzy. Jamie Lynn Spears gives birth to a daughter at seventeen. Last year, the media was dogging the hell out of Jamie Lynn and her sister mega-star Britney Spears. The media acted like a shocked parent finding out their teenage daughter is pregnant. I would at least find twenty pregnant young girls in the city public schools. I can remember the period of 1998 — 1999, there were twenty young girls who had given birth or were pregnant at the time of my graduation. But in the town of Gloucester, you hear “bizarre deal”, “pact”, “24-year old homeless man”, and “need to fit in”! The media goes crazy and bring us non-stop coverage of issues that requires a parent. The media should have no business injecting their venom to a sensitive issue. Hope for the best for the young girls and their boyfriends and/or husbands. Public schools are trained to inform students about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), teenage pregnancy and parenting. They are qualified professionals who maintain information to those who are in need of help. If were not allowed to do this, then you will have a bunch of uninformed

‘Pregnancy Pact’ Draws Sharp Response from Teen-Help Author

San Francisco (PRWEB) June 25, 2008

Seventeen teenage girls make a pact to get pregnant. Parents and teachers ask,”Why would they do this?”

Richard Dudum, author of What Your Mother Never Told You – A Survival Guide For Teenage Girls, thinks he knows why.

Dudum says, “Parents are too busy providing the basics for their families, shrinking budgets limit the ability of schools to educate teens about sex, and as a nation we don’t talk to our kids about the consequences of sex. Only a handful of parents and schools have had the courage to face up to these issues.”

These are the very issues Dudum tackles head-on in his book, What Your Mother Never Told You – A Survival Guide For Teenage Girls. The teenage survival guide includes chapters “Don’t Act and Dress Like A Ho,” ”Change Friends When It’s Time” and, ”Respect Yourself.” All should have been read by the seventeen mothers-to-be.

Dudum’s advice to parents of teenage girls is clear and simple. “Talk to your daughter about sex. If that’s too hard, put a copy of What Your Mother Never Told You on her bed. It will give her the tools to make good decisions, decisions that define and reflect who she is and who she wants to be. The book will open the door to dialogue.”

Richard Dudum is a San Francisco lawyer, musician, Realtor, summer-camp director, community leader and cancer survivor. He’s been married for 26 years. ”What Your Mother Never Told You” offers clear-sighted perspective and no-nonsense self-help advice from a father with the ability to convey tough love in a kind and supportive manner.

Richard Dudum is available for interviews immediately.

Miley Cyrus and Justin Gaston teen pregnancy These days it seems that the teenage triple threat has taken over every possible media outlet. Most recentely the topic in discussion is her rumored relationship with 20 year old underwear model Justin Gaston. The 16 year old Cyrus sent shocks through the airwaves last week during an interview with Ryan Seacrest when she revealed that when it comes to her supposed relationship, their families are like Whatever happens, happens. It appears that statement though, is not entirely true. Star magazine is reporting that Tish and Billy Rae Cyrus have been warning the pop princess about the consequences of a teen pregnancy-AND even pointing to Jamie Lynn Spears as the perfect example of what could go wrong. If I remember correctly it was just a few years ago that the younger Spears sister was on the fast track to a bigtime career, complete with her very own show on the Nickolodean Network…it sounds a lot like the success Miley Cyrus is currently enjoying. Star goes on to claim that Tish Cyrus and Lynn Spears had a secret meeting to chat about Jamie Lynns pregnancyof all which was followed by Billy Rae catching his daughter making out with Justin. An insider with the Cyrus family reveals that Mileys parents warn her that one bad decision could mean the end of her glamorous lifestyle. Don’t all parents have this talk with their teen-agers though? Obviously, the 411 on Miley’s relationship is all based on speculation and in all honesty
