The Cloud Computing benefits of Economy of Scale, pay per use opex model and resource pooling leading to higher utilization of resources will remain the key factors in increasing the adoption of cloud computing.
The Next Generation application development leveraging cloud technologies and Loosely Coupled Application Development on commodity cloud computing will start seeing evangelism in the Development World.
Tools like puppet and chef and the concept of Dev Ops will gain mindshare and these companies will gain the mindshare of IT departments and developers.
The Cloud Adoption will increase and become mainstay for startup Internet Companies and ISVs. In this space AWS will lead the pack.
Microsoft may come up as a strong contender in the Private Cloud Space. The Azure adoption may lag behind.
IaaS offering from AWS (Amazon Web Services) will lead the pack. AWS will continue to innovate in the Cloud Space.
AWS will try to enter the Enterprise Market with its offerings on VPC and will see gaining traction in enterprises for Dev Test Platforms and in Government Cloud.
Google may lag behind in the enterprise IaaS space, google will restrict itself to the Consumer Space and its enterprise Email offerings.
Microsoft will gain traction in the office 365 space and more and more enterprises will move to Microsoft’s online SaaS offerings.
SAP and ERP vendors will move their platforms to AWS and will start seeing traction on the new platform. However this will still be early days for ERP on commodity IaaS Cloud.
Loads of new vendors will try to have their products in the cloud space and try to vie in the IaaS and Private Cloud Space however VMWare vBlock and Microsoft may emerge as leaders in the private cloud environments.
Concerns on Security, SLAs on Cloud Computing and Statutory and Regulatory compliance issues will get addressed to an extent and more and more non critical workloads will find their way to SaaS and IaaS.
