FIDM’s FashionClub.com Highlights Lauren Conrad’s Style and Summer Swimsuit Trends This Season

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 18, 2011

FashionClub.com, sponsored by FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, has debuted fresh new content, including a feature story on Lauren Conrad Style. The celebrity, fashion designer, bestselling author, and former FIDM Student, currently designs the LC Lauren Conrad line for Kohl’s.

The article covers everything from her TV background to her signature style, including shoes, style tips, and her hairstyles. Conrad just debuted a new blog called The Beauty Department, which was designed by FIDM Graduate Bri Emery, and covers everything from new lipsticks to smokey eyes.

Also new to the site, is a fun story on summer swimwear trends. Whether it’s citrus colors and floral prints or nautical and ocean-inspired looks, natural and earthy looks are in for the season. Swimwear trends definitely mirror the spring/summer runway looks from top designers such as Michael Kors and Lanvin. Bohemian chic looks (complete with fringe, tassels, and braiding) and animal prints are also big for summer.

FashionClub.com also has stories on the hottest teen fashion and jewelry trends, runway looks, prom style advice, DIYs, make-up tips, and beauty tips. The site hosts contests to win prizes and scholarships to attend FIDM. There’s also fashion career information, interviews with leaders in the industry, and inspiring stories from fashion design students and famous FIDM alumni like Monique Lhuillier, and even a sketch school tutorial.

FashionClub.com is sponsored by FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising—a fabulous fashion college with campuses in four major cities in California: Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, and San Diego.

Baby Loves Disco and H&M Present Twelve Superhero Tour Dance Parties at Loews Hotels This Summer

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) May 02, 2011

The wheels on the bus go ‘round and ‘round as the Baby Loves Disco Superhero Tour, presented by H&M, arrives in 12 Loews Hotels locations this spring and summer. This year’s tour celebrates everybody’s inner superhero, and proves that moms, dads and kids of all sizes all have special powers worthy of superhero status. For a complete schedule, visit http://www.babylovesdisco.com/events.

A portion of proceeds from all 12 events will support community schools through DonorsChoose.org, the official charity of Loews Hotels; a web-based not-for-profit that provides essential classroom tools to teachers across the country.

Families are invited to join the Baby Loves Disco Nation, to dance, play, savor healthy snacks and generally enjoy good times with family and friends. Parents and kids are invited to dress up as their favorite superheroes, or come just as they are. For updates on the Tour, visit Baby Loves Disco’s pages on Facebook and Twitter.

“Baby Loves Disco is a great experience for families which syncs perfectly with our Loews Loves Kids program,” said Lark-Marie Anton, Loews Hotels Vice President of Public Relations. “This will be a summer to remember at Loews Hotels and we are excited that BLD will be part of the fun!”

Each event of the tour rocks with special guest superhero DJs and MCs, dance instruction, big video screens, super contests and surprises at every turn. At its core, each event retains the patented mix of Baby Loves Disco magic that has helped connect a worldwide community of moms, dads and kids of all nations, of all colors and all walks of life, all in the name of dance (and fun!).

As Baby Loves Disco co-founder Andy Blackman Hurwitz says, “Come and shake it…or cape it. The Disco Superheroes are coming to a town near you, keeping dance floors safe from coast to coast.”

Already this year, thousands of parents, grandparents and kids have danced the day away at all kinds of venues in New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota and California. Other sponsors of the Baby Loves Disco Superhero Tour include Creativity for Kids, Honest Kids, Snikiddy and Piggy Paint. Last fall, the Baby Loves Disco Lemonade Tour co-sponsored family dance parties at Loews properties in Coronado Bay in California and Ventana Canyon in Arizona.

Baby Loves Disco is an afternoon dance party featuring real music spun and mixed by real DJs, blending classic disco tunes with the latest G-rated dance tracks, all guaranteed to get little booties moving and grooving. An international sensation since its founding six years ago by two parents in Philadelphia, Baby Loves Disco now brings parents and kids together to groove at all kinds of venues. Last year’s 45-city Baby Loves Disco Lemonade Tour of 2010 raised awareness and funds for Alex’s Lemonade Stand, the children’s cancer charity. In recognition of the global reach of Baby Loves Disco, Babble.com chose co-founder Heather Murphy Monteith as one of the top 50 “Mompreneurs” in the country. Co-founder Hurwitz was also recently featured in the “Dads Hall of Fame” (just above Brad Pitt) in Parents’ magazine.
