New Supernatural Novel for Teens from Teen Author

The phrase “paranormal teen romance,” would probably make most people think of the tidal wave of popularity associated with the “Twilight” series of books and movies. But the phrase takes a different meaning in debut author J.K. Hila’s new novel “Mary’s Little Tom-cat: What Happens When You’re the Most Deadilest Weapon on Earth?” (published by AuthorHouse). Her story hits the “paranormal teen romance” requirements – it includes science-fiction themes with zombies and vampires to spice it up – but her book is different in that it was actually written by a teenager.

Logan Vanessa Chase Jr., known as Heroin, leads a team of renegades – a doctor, a sex addict, a girl from an abused life, a whore, and an escapee from the hell of being bred into life of being used in science projects. Together, the group has one goal: to stop these people breeding humans for science. But standing in their way are their own vices, their dark pasts and the constant threats they face on their quest.

“’We’re not alone.’ I said out loud. Getting my gun ready. Within a second I was surrounded by a group of ‘people’. Now these ‘people’ aren’t the same as normal people you see out and about. In fact those people are rare nowadays. These ‘people’ are more like experiments gone wrong. Horribly wrong. See awhile back there was this group of lab geeks who wanted to save humanity. But see animal testing was banned and anyone found out testing on animals would be put to death. After seeing people actually executed for that, animal testing stopped. Everyone’s been a bit too scared to test on animals, so these lab geeks decided to test on the subjects they wanted to actually ‘save’. Now what’s in front of me and PrettyBoy, is these demonic, zombie looking crazy fuckers.

Can Heroin deal with her past and her addiction to drugs, and cutting herself? Will she get find a way to get her teammate and brother back?
