About the Author

E. Reid Gilbert grew up in the hills of North Carolina. He attended several colleges and earned five academic degrees, including a PhD in Asian Theatre. He has worked in various fields such as the Methodist and Unitarian ministries, college professorships, acting and theatre. While on Fulbright assignments in India and Thailand, he gained perspective on his own cultural roots and has written theatre scripts, poetry and a previous book that explored those Appalachian mores and values.
