Weight Loss for Teens: Fast Weight Loss Diet for Teens

Category : Teen Stars

With celebrities all losing weight especially teen stars like Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Hillary Duff, it is no wonder that teenagers nowadays want to have the slimmest bod ever.

And with a hundred and one kinds of the diet programs in the market, dieting is not really that hard especially if you are really dead set on your target weight and losing those extra pounds. It is important though that you look for a kind of diet that will fit your needs and something that will still keep you healthy.

Most of the diet programs in the market may work but getting into the program can be mighty expensive. Unless you have someone like Donald Trump as your father, an ordinary teenager like you would never be able to afford the diet program even if you save your whole monthly allowance. Other programs though that you can afford may not work the same way. If you are not really in need of a crash diet and just need to lose a few pounds, then you can just do your own kind of diet and monitor your own progress.

There is actually no great secret in dieting. The right kind of dieting is composed of two things, balance diet and exercise. Below are some ideas and tips that may help you start the diet program. See what works for you and who knows, you might even be able to invent your own.

Lessen the meat

One way to truly lose weight is to avoid foods that put calories into your weight. This means that you should avoid foods that are rich in fats and carbohydrates. Lessen your intake of red meat such as beef and pork. If you must really have to, eat white meat such as those found in chicken and in turkey.

Go for the fruits

Fruits are healthy foods that provide a balance of nutrients and what is more, it is a good source of fibers that help the digestive system metabolize the foods that we take into our bodies. Fruits are also great sources of vitamins and minerals that will not only keep your body healthy but will also keep your skin and other body functions in tip-top shape.

Eat veggies.

Veggies are foods that are low in caloric content but rich in fibers, vitamins and minerals. Depending on how it is cooked, going on a vegetarian meal once in a while can help you lose those unwanted fats fast.

Exercise routine

The other side of a diet program is the exercise part. It is not enough that you just eat the right kinds of food. Doing this will only prevent you from gaining more weight but will not make a difference in the weight that you have gained before. If you really want to lose weight, diet and exercise goes hand in hand.

Most people think that if they exercise, every now and then, they will already lose weight. This is not the case. In order to really lose weight, it is important that you establish an exercise routine that you will be able to follow through.

Commitment

Without this, nothing will ever come off from your attempt. In losing weight, you really have to want to lose weight. There is no half measure. There is no vacation. Total and absolute commitment is necessary. Otherwise, you are just wasting your time.

Learning About Easy Weight Loss for Teens

Category : TEEN NEWSPAPER

Learning about easy weight loss for teens is crucial when you have an overweight teenager. Not only does being overweight as a teenager have long-term emotional consequences, but more and more studies are determining that our future cardiac health depends a lot on what we do to our bodies as adolescents. Easy weight loss for teens involves understanding the peer pressure your overweight teen may be facing and learning about the basic principles of weight loss.

Being overweight as a teen can be a brutal experience. Teasing and peer pressure is at a peak during these years as our children move from childhood to adulthood. It can be difficult to form positive attitudes that will benefit your child as an adult when he or she is constantly ridiculed for being overweight. The negative comments they receive will either be held inward or projected outward at society or people in general. Teens that are overweight may develop a poor self-image and resort to fad diets and starvation to attempt to achieve the body that so many celebrities have set as the “ideal” body. Anorexic models and extremely thin starlets are splashed all over the magazines many teens read. The diets that these dangerously thin celebrities follow are available on the internet as easy weight loss for teens.

It’s imperative that you help your teen understand what easy weight loss for teens is really about. Just as with many subjects such as sex and drugs, if they don’t hear it from you, they may follow misinformation from their peers or the media.

Help your teen understand the basics about proper nutrition. Easy weight loss for teens does not involve fad diets or starvation. You might need to educate yourself first on this subject. There’s a lot of misinformation out there regarding weight loss and proper nutrition. No carb’s, lo carb’s, maple syrup, high protein… it’s an unending list, really.

Easy weight loss for teens can be found within a simple equation. Weight maintenance dictates that calories consumed must be equivalent to caloric output. Therefore, if weight loss is desired, the equation must be shifted to have a caloric deficit. This can be achieved by lowering the amount of calories consumed, increasing caloric output via exercise or best of all, doing both.

Your teen needs to understand that easy weight loss for teens doesn’t mean fast. A healthy goal for weight loss is around one to two pounds per week. Drastically lowering calories will achieve quicker weight loss, but the trade-off is that metabolism is lowered, thus making it more difficult to lose weight in the future.

To begin easy weight loss for teens, use a calorie calculator to determine the appropriate amount of calories for your teen based on height, weight, age, sex and activity level. Calorie calculators can be found free of charge on the internet. From there, set up a plan that will create a calorie deficit of 500 to 1000 calories per day to achieve either a one pound or two pound per week weight loss goal. It’s imperative that your teen achieves this deficit through diet and exercise.

For calorie information, read food labels. Your teenager needs to read these labels and learn how to properly portion food. We live in a super-sized country. Seeing what a real portion looks like can be surprising at first. Easy weight loss for teens, however, cannot be achieved unless they understand portions and learn approximate caloric values of different foods.

Consult the food guide pyramid available at www.eatright.org for information on what types of foods your teenager should be eating. The misguided notion that carbohydrates are bad has created a lot of confusion. As long as the majority of carbohydrate consumption is whole grains, fruits and vegetables as opposed to simple carbohydrates like sweets and white breads and pastas, carb’s are okay and should be a regular part of your teenager’s diet. Choose lean meats over high fat meats and try to incorporate fish into your easy weight loss for teens plan. Dairy is also an important food group. Just remember to choose low-fat or fat free dairy products.

Above all, in learning about easy weight loss for teens don’t forget to be a positive and encouraging part of your teen’s weight loss. Try not to pressure them. They’re feeling enough pressure at school and from themselves. On a bad day, an encouraging smile and a big hug may be all they really need.

7 Quick And Easy Teen Weight Loss Tips

Category : TEEN NEWSPAPER

Are you looking for some quick and easy teen weight loss tips? Then you’ve come to the right spot! These positive weight loss tips will get your overweight teen off that couch, away from the computer and on his or her way to a happier, healthier life!

One of the biggest contributing factors to being overweight as a teen has to do with a sedentary lifestyle. There’s so much entertainment geared towards sitting in front of a screen that kids tend to do just that. What motivation does your teen have to leave the screens behind and get some exercise? The key to these teen weight loss tips is to make exercise fun!

Teen weight loss tip #1: Does your teen like to spend time at the mall? Teach them the art of window shopping – fast window shopping! Take your teen to the mall early in the morning and join the mall walkers. As you walk at a brisk pace, your teen can check out all the store windows. This can even serve as a fashion education for you, Mom or Dad!

Teen weight loss tip #2: Racquetball! Many physical activities help a person work off a bad mood, but racquetball allows your teen to pummel a bad mood! Teenagers are not lacking in emotional ups and downs. This ramped up tennis-like sport can really work off stress and calories at the same time. Check out your local parks and recreational facilities for free courts and go purchase a couple of cheap racquets and balls for you and your teen.

Teen weight loss tip #3: Let’s go fly a kite! Kites can actually become a pretty cool hobby that offers exercise as well. Find a big field free of trees and go run some kites. This might be something a group of your teens friends will find fun and challenging as they learn to do tricks with their kites. Hey, maybe they’ll start a new trend!

Teen weight loss tip #4: Bring your teen to the gym with you. Most fitness clubs offer use of their entire facilities for teenagers. If this is something in your budget, it can be a great way to help your teen make exercise a part of their lives. There are so many options for working out at a gym that your teen is bound to find an activity they love. They might even be encouraged by observing healthy people at work on their bodies.

Teen weight loss tip #5: Become running (or walking) buddies! Going for a run or brisk walk in the morning with your teen not only benefits your child, but you as well. So set those alarm clocks a little earlier and hit the road. I haven’t met many teenagers that love to jump out of bed in the morning, so you may have to use a little bribery. It takes three weeks to make something a habit, good or bad. Tell them if they run with you for three weeks, you’ll buy them that new video game they’ve been wanting. Hey, I know, bribery isn’t the best parenting method, but break the rule for something this important! You’re giving your child a chance to form an exercise habit that they just might keep for a lifetime!

Teen weight loss tip #6: Golf. What? Tiger Woods is in fantastic shape! Alright, so I realize that golf isn’t as ramped up as the rest of these tips, but walking an 18-hole course over two hours burns more calories than you might think. Couple that with carrying a golf bag and you’ve got a pretty decent activity! Obviously, you need to leave the golf cart behind. Besides, if your overweight child is less of the athletic type and more of the book worm, intellectual type, he or she will probably enjoy a skilled sport such as golf.

Teen weight loss tip #7: Exercise classes. If you don’t belong to a gym, our local community center or parks and rec organizations might offer classes for your teen to explore other areas of exercise. Perhaps your teen just hasn’t found something they like. There are so many forms of exercise out there that the possibilities are endless: yoga, Pilates, Yogalates, kick-boxing, karate, Kung Fu, hip-hop…

The best teen weight loss tip I can give you is to just get your teen moving. Be a positive influence for your teen and get moving with them!

What weight and height are most teen models?

Category : Teen Models

I need to know the average weight and height of some female teen models for stores like Hot Topic, etc.

I weigh around 120 pounds and am 5′3″ tall. I’m 13 and I’m wondering what a good looking weight is. XP
In pants I am a size 5 I think. In shirts I am a medium but also fit into small.
