Toe-to-Toe with Your Teen: Successfully Parenting a Defiant Teenager Without Giving Up or Giving In

Defiant, out-of-control teenagers are holding families hostage to their selfish demands. It would be easy to judge the parents of these teens as ineffective and even easier to label the kids as bad seeds, the symbols of a self-centered generation. But the truth is that even solid, Christ focused families are not immune to the turmoil created by rebellious teenagers. Every day, family counselors across the country see well-intentioned parents who are driven to their wits end by the daily struggle against their children’s unmanageable behavior, desperate for a shred of hope that things can change. They also see teenagers whose lives hold great promise, but who need help navigating their way to maturity. In Toe-to-Toe with Your Teen, Dr. Jimmy Myers offers fresh hope to disheartened parents who are doubtful that they can make a difference in their teen’s life. He lays out proven, specific strategies to help parents put a stop to unruly behavior, exert their God given authority and parent their teen to success.

Teens Can Make Their Mark Without Leaving A Mark With New Flair4all Wall Decals

Category : Teen myspace

Madison, Wis. (PRWEB) July 7, 2009

More than 100 SKUs. Seventy styles. Seven color palettes. Infinite ways for teens to make a personalized style statement. New flair4all reusable wall decals launched today–and thanks to their proprietary SmartRelease® adhesive, have rendered teen decorating rebellion risk-free. These new wall decals offer designs to fit any teen’s style–whether she’s a diva, a rocker or somewhere in between. Best yet, flair4all decals come off surfaces just as easily as they go on. Flair4all has come to the rescue of style-stymied teens everywhere who are barred from self-expression because of parental drywall anxiety.

“A teen’s room is her sanctuary, a statement of her self-expression,” says flair4all product development director Suzanne Stelzer. “With flair4all, teens can change their rooms as often as they change their style. It gives them an easy and affordable way to test the bounds of their style without testing their parents’ limits, or having to live with the consequences of a room decorating disaster.”

Flair4all’s design diversity encompasses numerous teen decorating trends, from beachy to glam to retro and more. Color palette options include diva glam, pastel posh, raspberry truffle, candy crush, vintage charm, electric ink and mayhem. Plus flair4all will stick to tons of different surfaces like walls, painted cinderblock, doors, bookshelves, glass, mirrors, and lockers.

Packages of flair4all are sold exclusively on the product’s Web site, flair4all.com, for $ 20.00. Flair-packs include three 12 x 17-inch sheets with decals of various sizes and designs. Collections include flair-packs with coordinating themes and colors including dry erase flair and individual letters for teens to spell out their own messages.

Flair4all.com also offers a lot more than purchase opportunities. Visitors are encouraged to rate and review products and share their own decorating ideas. They can even upload photos of their rooms after they’ve been flaired.

“We’re serious about people finding what styles fit their voice best,” says Stelzer. “But we’re not just helping teens express their voices, we’re also listening. We wanted to make sure our Web site felt like it was theirs too. The interactivity allows them to make their mark, not only on our site but, ultimately, on our brand.”

Teens will also make their mark on flair4all’s marketing. In the coming months, flair4all brand ambassadors, also known as Expressionistas, will help introduce teens across the country to flair4all.

The Expressionistas will share their personal experiences and their flair4all decorating ideas on the brand’s social network pages like Facebook, MySpace and YouTube. They’ll also share free samples with their friends and teens at local events.

Online High School Opens Doors for Students Without a High School Diploma or GED

Category : High School

(PRWEB) July 10, 2005

Centennial High School offers a fast, affordable high school diploma program that can be completed online and that is accepted by many companies who require their employees to have a high school diploma or GED.

According to the 1999 Current Population Survey of the United States Census, a staggering 55% of individuals at least 25 years old who failed to complete high school or receive a GED reported no earnings for the year. This compares to 25% of those 25 years or older with at least a high school diploma or GED who failed to report earnings for the year.

Furthermore, for those who reported earnings in 1999, the median income for individuals who did not complete their high school diploma or GED was $ 15,334, compared to a median income of $ 29,294 for those with at least a high school diploma or GED.

One of the main reasons for this large discrepancy is that it is becoming standard practice for companies to require all of their employees to have at least a high school diploma or GED. Individuals who did not finish high school or receive a GED are thus not eligible for a large number of jobs in today’s job market.

Centennial High School’s high school diploma online program was designed specifically for this problem. It is fast and affordable, and the Centennial High School diploma is recognized by many companies. Graduates of the program are able to quickly earn their diploma and begin applying for jobs or positions that were previously beyond their reach.

Students in the program take a 4-part high school equivalency test and complete an enrollment application. Once they have passed the test and completed their enrollment application, they can order a high school diploma graduation package from Centennial High School.

The high school diploma graduation package includes a high school diploma from Centennial High School, plus transcripts based on the high school equivalency test taken earlier. It also includes free ongoing employer verification, which means employers can call the Centennial High School registrar and verify that a student has graduated from the program.

The entire high school diploma program can be completed from any computer with Internet access, and each student can complete the program at their own pace. Motivated students can typically complete the entire program and receive their high school diploma within 5 days or less.

A high school diploma from Centennial High School currently costs $ 219.00 plus shipping. However, students can sign up for the program, take the equivalency test and complete their enrollment application for free. Students do not pay anything until they have completed the program and are ready to order a high school diploma graduation package.

The high school diploma program from Centennial High School makes an excellent alternative to a general education diploma, or GED. If someone is considering getting a GED to be eligible for a job, then getting a high school diploma from Centennial High School has a number of advantages. It can be completed faster, it doesn’t require any classroom time and it is affordable, plus it is accepted by many companies.

For additional information about Centennial High School and our high school diploma online program, please visit the Centennial High School website: GED online.
