Hockey Boosts East Ridge Teen’s Recovery
Although it’s just a game, hockey kept a Twin Cities teen going during the darkest days of his young life. In March, Emilio Rodriguez was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The 18-year-old defenseman for the Woodbury’s East Ridge High School underwent nearly 8 hours of surgery to remove the cancer in June.
