A teen who was in a drunken rage when he beat his relative to death during a dispute over $ 40 will spend 20 months in jail for the crime. Mel Renwick had a rough life as an alcoholic but was liked by Melita residents, Crown attorney Rich Lonstrup said.

Teen center seeks donations
The Amity Teen Center is participating in a special challenge from the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, dubbed giveGreater.org. In an effort to raise giving levels, the Foundation challenges any non-profit organization to find a minimum of 50 donors who will give $ 50 or more. The more donors they come up with, the bigger their chance to win a grant prize.
